LSPDCL’s Local Area Development Activities
The Local Area Development Fund (LADF) is a strategic initiative by LSPDCL aimed at fostering inclusive growth in regions hosting solar parks and power plants. LADF is collected from Solar Power Developers (SPDs) at a rate of ₹5 lakhs per megawatt annually. These funds are earmarked for the development of villages, Panchayats, and blocks within the vicinity of solar infrastructure.
Proposals for development are formulated, recommended, and approved by a district-level committee chaired by the District Magistrate. Once approved, LSPDCL directly transfers the funds to the District Magistrate, who oversees execution through a designated deposit work agency.
Key District-Level Interventions
- Jalaun: Infrastructure upgrades in 54 primary and secondary schools, repairs in 8 inter colleges, and construction of roads connecting villages.
- Prayagraj: Establishment of smart classrooms in 187 schools and distribution of educational toys to 669 Anganwadi centres across aspirational blocks.
- Mirzapur: Development of school infrastructure, community sanitation facilities, rainwater harvesting systems, and upgrades to healthcare centres.
These initiatives reflect LSPDCL’s commitment to leveraging renewable energy investments for broader socio-economic development in host communities.
